DEMERITS & WORK DETENTION
A work detention system follows up on the demerits that are issued by school
authorities. The demerits are issued for the following:
2 demerits for being late to tutoring lesson
2 demerits for not bringing Bible to school
3 demerits for talking during school hours
3 demerits for breaking dress code
5 demerits for disrespect to teachers
5 demerits for disobedience
5 demerits for grumbling and complaining
5 demerits for being rude or mean to other students
5 demerits for not completing schoolwork assignments
5 demerits for rough-housing or fighting
For every 15 demerits earned, the student will be required to stay after
school that day for work detention during which the following activities may take
place:
1. Gather and take all the trash out to the dumpster, replace bags
2. Vacuum the carpets
3. Clean the bathrooms
4. Wash dishes, clean the kitchen
5. Wash the windows, inside or out
6. Clean the blinds or dust library
7. Any other responsibilities the administration deems suitable
The 15-demerit penalty will be removed after work detention has been served.
A student may not earn more than 45 demerits per semester without being
placed on enrollment probation at CIAS.
